WHAT WE DO

Drywall Repair That Sets Up a Clean Paint Finish

Elevated Colors provides drywall repair services throughout Central Florida, including small hole patching, large hole repairs, water damage restoration, ceiling repair, and texture matching to prepare walls for a clean paint finish. We work across Winter Haven, Auburndale, Lake Wales, Dundee, and surrounding communities.

Most drywall repairs come as part of an interior painting project, but we also handle standalone repair work for homeowners whose walls need attention before they hire out the paint job or list their home to sell.

STRAIGHT TALK

Why Bundle Drywall Repair with Painting

Drywall repair and painting are two jobs that overlap heavily. If you hire separately, the drywall contractor patches and leaves, then the painter shows up and has to work around the repair. Texture rarely matches perfectly. Primer coverage gets inconsistent. Seams show through the paint if the joint compound wasn't sanded right.

When one team handles both, the repair gets done specifically to blend under the paint. We sand smoother than a repair-only contractor would (because we know what the finish is going to reveal), we prime the patched areas so they don't flash through, and we match the surrounding texture before the first coat goes on. The result looks like the damage was never there.

Standalone drywall repair is available if that's what you need. But if you're planning to paint after, bundle the two and save yourself the coordination.

OUR PROCESS

How Drywall Repair Works

Four steps from assessment to invisible repair.

01

Free On-Site Assessment

Send a message. We come out within one business day to look at the damage, identify the root cause (leak, settling, impact), and give you a written quote. If the damage points to a leak or moisture problem we'll flag it so it gets fixed before we cover it up.

02

Prep and Protection

We protect surrounding surfaces, floors, and belongings before we start. Drywall repair generates dust. Proper containment is the difference between a clean job site and cleaning your whole house afterward.

03

Repair and Texture Match

Damage patched with appropriate materials for the size of the repair. Small dings get spackle. Medium holes get patch mesh and joint compound. Large holes get new drywall cut in, taped, and mudded. Multiple coats with sanding between. Texture matched to the surrounding wall or ceiling.

04

Prime and Paint

Repaired areas get primed so they absorb paint at the same rate as the surrounding wall, which prevents flashing where the patch shows through the finish coat. If you're painting the whole wall or room, we roll straight into the paint job. If you're only patching, you get a primed surface ready for whatever comes next.

FAQ

Drywall Repair FAQs

How much does drywall repair cost?

Small hole repairs typically range from $150 to $400 for a full room. Medium hole repairs with texture matching range from $200 to $500 each. Large repairs and drywall replacement range from $400 to $1,200 per section. When bundled with a paint project in the same room, most small and medium repairs are included in the paint quote.

How long does drywall repair take?

A single small or medium repair usually takes half a day. Multiple repairs in one room typically take a full day. Large repairs or ceiling work usually take one to two days including dry time between coats. You'll get a specific timeline with your written quote.

Can you match my existing wall texture?

Yes. Orange peel, knockdown, smooth, and lightly textured finishes are all matched routinely. Older or unusual textures may require a small test patch to dial in the match before we do the full repair.

Do you handle water-damaged drywall?

Yes, but the leak or moisture source has to be fixed first. If we find active moisture during assessment, we'll flag it and recommend a plumber or roofer before we do repair work. Painting over active moisture damage is a temporary fix that fails within months.

Do you repair popcorn ceilings?

Yes. We can patch and match existing popcorn ceilings for a like-for-like repair, or remove popcorn ceilings entirely and refinish with a modern smooth or lightly textured finish if you're ready to update the look.

Do I need to paint after drywall repair?

Technically no, but repairs always show without paint even if the texture matches perfectly. The patched area absorbs light differently than the surrounding wall. If you want the repair to disappear completely, painting at least the full wall is required, and painting the full room gives the best result.

Do you do drywall installation for new construction?

Yes. Drywall installation for new construction and additions is part of our service. This is usually quoted separately from repair work since the scope and materials are different.
